The rules of Midlands Badgers hockey state that a team can play up to 3 adults - of course at the expense of playing U16's.
That is why we try to avoid this to give our Badgers maximum playing time. If the balance of the game calls for us to use one then we will.
After last week, where we easily overcame a Sutton team of 12 to 13 yr olds 6 - 2 and they did not use adults like they had in previous seasons, yesterday we were up against 2 adults defenders and easily held our own having much the best possession and playing the better hockey. We unlocked the defense many times only to be prevented from scoring by some good keeing and some poorly hit shots.
The goal came from a good move down the right with Noah combining well with Nat before Micah got a mis-directed shot in which young Tom Stokes got his stick on to deflect over the line - well done Tom - his first goal for the club !! Atherstone equalised minutes later and had a goal disallowed after the umpires had to confer after the one spotted a foot offense.
Everyone played really very well, especially all the younger players. Matt Whitehouse gets MoM for a great display of ball control.
You all need to practice harder on your hitting through the ball for passes and shots.
