Ladies 2nd XI vs Worcester 3rd XI

Bournville struck hard with the first push back and utilised excellent passing around. Worcester threatened plenty in the first quarter but Bournville blocked most play with superb defending and capitilised with breaks wide and threading the ball around the Worcester players to create space and opportunity. The ball came close to hitting the back of the Worcester net but was well defended, allowing a Worcester break back and slipped the ball past the kick back. A second goal came shortly before half time.

A tough final quarter ensued due to tired legs but mental determination spurred the girls on. Several long corners and short corners in quick succession allowed Bournville to threaten the goal several times but the girls were crowded out and the ball did not go in. Worcester slipped one last goal in in the second half.

The team showed excellent skill, teamwork, determination and this showed in the level of possession, outplaying Worcester. This is a superb foundation and shows how quickly the team is progressing. On with the season!
