Warwick come from 2-0 down to win.

Coming off the back of a disappointing 5 minute spell and a very flattering scoreline versus Edgbaston, Bournville 2's went into their second game of the season wanting to set the record straight. A strong Warwick team unbeaten in their first two games were set to be a good test of resolve for the Squad.

With a number of names unavailable from the previous week, a much changed line up took to the field including a new Centre Mid partnership of Jonny Borer alongside Dan McConaghy; the later making the move up from Right Back. Also making their debut for the 2's was new signings Danny Higgins and Tom Gwilliam. Both brought in recently from Kings Heath with Danny having played the first few games of the season for the 1's.

The Game started well with Bournville putting the Warwick defence under instant pressure. A slick move within the first minute with some good build up play left Danny Higgins with the opportunity of a shot from a tight angle which hit the side netting.

It wasn't long before Bournville capitalised on their dominance with Nick Deacon picking the ball up at the top of the D, turning his man behind and slotting the ball cooly under the onrushing goal keeper. 1-0 Bournville.

The second goal wasn't far behind. Some good work and build up play from Jonny Borer, who dominated the centre of the park, led to an opportunity for Elliot Southerton to make it two. A good initial save by the keeper rebounded the ball back to the Bournville striker and whilst controlling the rebound and being slide tackled by the keeper, Elliot managed to put the ball in the bottom corner. 2-0 Bournville.

With the game finely poised at 2-0, Warwick unleashed their secret weapon. A mammoth 75 yard aerial picked out the sky by one of Warwick's 6ft 3" centre forwards hit Bournville on the break. A hit into the centre of the D and a composed first time finish through the legs of keeper Adam Parson made it 2-1 before the break.

With Bournville being the more dominant of the teams in the first half, the goal just before the break proved to be crucial. Warwick came out of the blocks strong passing the ball around quickly, tiring out the Bournville midfield and back line.

A messy clearance and lucky deflection made it all square as Warwick made their possession count.

With Warwick buoyed on by their resurgent comeback, the game became a scrappy affair in the dying minutes. With Warwick looking more likely to score, a short corner with 10 minutes left on the clock proved to be vital. A well worked routine which saw a deflection hit high in the back of the net passed the despairing Adam Parsons was all that she wrote.

The final whistle blew with the score a bitterly disappointed Bournville 2 Warwick 3.

Man of the match went to Jonny Borer for an utterly dominant midfield display.

Dick of the Day went to Dan McConaghy who turned up half an hour late and spent his warm up chatting up the blonde bombshell (Connor Lennon) on the sidelines.

The 2's will be back with an away fixture against Worcester. Can they make it Third Time Lucky?
