Quick one from me this week, busy weekend with TWO matches for the ladies twos! Yes, we are keen and hockey is our life.
A busy day for a few of our players having already played in the pouring rain down in Worcester but sprits were not dampened and we were all ready to fight through another match. With Helen Bailey, star of the day, helping us get warmed up and coming prepared with a whiteboard, balls and hot squash (the best hot drink, no arguments). We were ready.
It was another tough fight but we held strong and worked our socks off, battling through every tackle and working hard to win those balls. Sadly a few goals were conceded, HOWEVER, I could burst with pride at the way we played. Each and every player making their mark and shining across the course of the match and by far the best we have played as a team. We may not have kicked off the season as we would have liked but we are fighting and we will never give up and now we are seeing the reward from our efforts.
It was a tough week for MOTM votes with everyone performing at their best but I am incredibly proud fo the individual who came top from this week. I also want to thank everyone who came for a socially distanced outdoor celebration at the pub where, despite the rain, we had a chance to share our delight and warm ourselves up with tea and hot chocolate (and yes, maybe a bit more hot squash).
MOTM WINNER - Libby (outstanding play and some excellent runs)
VOTD - Libby (AGAIN, but to be fair for being an absolute trooper and wearing fancy dress and face paint for Halloween - credits to Alice Dunbar too for getting involved with that too)
A note and a quote from your captain:
"Success isn't given, it's earned. On the track, on the field, in the gym, with blood, sweat an the occasional tear"
