Following the clubs AGM we are delighted to be able to announce the new Management Committee.

The club is delighted to announce Cath Hood as the clubs first female chairperson, having spent the second half of last season as acting chair with Tom Rowland stepping down. Having joined Bournville in 1999 with spells away from the club at Edgbaston and Barford Tigers where she spent three years as Club Secretary, Cath should be in a great position to head the committee for the forthcoming season.

Much like our new Chair, Sarah Powell spent the second half of last season as acting Club Secretary having stepped into the shoes of Darrell Shaw and has now been confirmed in the role for the coming season. She will be joined on the committee by long term members and parents Dave & Sophia Powell who take on the Youth Development and Match Day Operations roles.

Masters O55 World Cup winner Adrian Bailey who having joined the club in the 80s and having over that time filled several roles from club coach to captain of the Mens 3rd XI, will continue in his current role as treasurer.

With three years’ experience in the role it’s with great pleasure for the club to announce Richard Baller as our Badgers Co-Ordinator. Having helped in the transition of several youth products move from Badgers to Adult hockey including Luke Parsons who is now a member of the Mens 1st XI, we are already looking forward to the next group of young stars to come through under his guidance.

Having being with the club since 2000 the committees’ youngest member Connor Lennon will continue in the position he has held for the past two seasons as Communications Co-Ordinator. In that time the club has become on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram as well as having upgraded its website.

After a difficult season captaining the Mens 1st XI Stefan Sekula will be replacing Ian Wilson as Mens Club Captain, having being with the club since 2002 Stefan can bring his experience of playing at a high standard of hockey to shape selection process and player development for the Mens club. Quite the opposite to Stefan, Kate Culloty has stepped down as Ladies 1st XI captain having led them to promotion to become the Ladies Club Captain, joining the club over 30 years ago Kates experiences of the ups and downs will be invaluable to the club in this role.

As a club, we would like to thank those who have stepped down from the management committee for the 2017/18 season. Rachel Manamley who has spent the last two years as the clubs Match Day Operations Co-Ordinator, will be sorely missed. Having faced a huge number of challenges and solved them with ease, the club cannot be more grateful for the time and effort Rachel has put into the role. We’d also like to thank Daniel McConaghy and Katie White both of whom spent the last season organising club socials raising over £4,000, without the socials organised by the pair the club would be unable to fulfil its requirements. Finally, Ian Wilson who has stepped down as Men’s Club Captain having previous spent time as Club Chairman for serval years will now be able to concentrate on just enjoying the game.

The club social secretary position remains vacant, if you are interested helping with the role please contact Sarah Powell for further details.
