On Saturday 5th September, Bournville Hockey Club will be hosting a Club Day with a difference...

Club Day - Saturday 5th September

The Saturday after the last Back 2 Hockey session will be Hockey Fest (aka Club Day). This year will be bigger and better than ever with plenty happening on the day including a BBQ and six-a-side hockey tournament involving all members of the club.

The format is two groups of five teams of six players playing 15 minute games. The teams in each group play each other with the group winners progressing to the final for the honour of winning the coveted Phil Hewitt Cup.

Cost is £5 per adult, £2 per junior if you let the organisers know before Club Day (or £7 adult, £3 junior if you just turn up on the day). The discount is offered because it makes it easier for the organisers to ensure that the teams are balanced.

The day is open to everyone. If you're new to hockey and would like to be involved, join us! We will have sticks for you to borrow.

If you're already a club member, bring along any friends or family who would like to take part.

Birmingham Vision, Bournville Ladies' sponsor, will be present at the event and there will also be plenty of fun activities including a bake off!

For those of you carrying around old sticks that you no longer want or need, we will also be collecting old hockey sticks for TAP Project Africa, which aims to promote hockey in Africa. Why not give your stick a new life and give someone else the opportunity to play? Bring your old sticks to Hockey Fest and England Hockey will be collecting the sticks as part of TAP Project Africa. You can find out more about TAP Project Africa here

The day won't end at the pitch side, we'll be heading back to Tally Ho afterwards!
